The Paint Brush Cleaner was developed in two versions: for DIY and for professional painters. The main objectives of the project were: to save time and effort, to be easy and safe to use, and to increase productivity and efficiency. The developed features include an ergonomic soft-grip handle for maximizing gripping effort and comfort, as well as cleaning features with specially designed spaced teeth. The design process has gone through all development stages with an emphasis on experimentation, validation and ergonomics. During development, dozens of prototype generations have been tested with professional painters following detailed experimentation protocols on job sites or in lab. In conclusion, the tool removes floating filaments before painting, cleans the paint brush efficiently without damaging the filaments and removes paint excess on roller covers.
